Milagu Kozhambu


This is my amma's recipe and I love it very much, would not even mind drinking a glass of it :)

Ingredients :

Tamarind : 1 lemon size ball (medium)
Mana thakkali vathal or tiny tomato vatthal : 10- 15 nos
Urad dal : 1 spoon
Toor dal : 1 spoon
Milagavathal or red pepper flakes : 3 nos
Whole black pepper : 2 spoon

mustard seeds
Curry leaves
Salt : to taste

First saute Toor dhal, Urad dal , Milagavathal, pepper and curry leaves. Once they turn brown in colour add a pinch of hing to it and grind it into a fine powder.

Meanwhile, take a glass of tamarind juice and boil them for 5 to 10 minutes. Add salt and curry leaves to them

Now add the grinded mixture to the tamarind juice and boil them for another 10 minutes or until they become

Then add spluttered mustard seeds and fried chunda vathal in to the milagu kuzhambu.

Garnish it with curry leaves for more taste.

Tasty Milagu kuzhambu is ready in minutes. It will be really tasty and I am sure everyone will love it. It can be had with little ghee and parupu sadam.
